Dear Families, Third graders are expected to read for 30 minutes daily. Reading to and with your children is so very important for their learning. Coin counting, references to time of day, addition and subtraction practice, as well as measuring while baking or cooking, can also support their math learning. We will start the year expanding our knowledge of addition, subtraction and place value, but we will begin hitting multiplication and very soon and very hard. Please see that students have had about ten hours of sleep and are dressed for outside play. We will have outside recess most days, weather permitting. We are partners in your child's education, so please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone with any questions or concerns. Janet Henk |
