ROSEMOUNT, Minn. -- Nandi Rieck, a Special Education coordinator in District 196 since 2003, has been named the coordinator of Dakota Ridge School in Apple Valley, which serves students at all levels with emotional and/or behavioral challenges.
Rieck had been serving as the interim coordinator at Dakota Ridge since February, when she was assigned to the position following the resignation of previous coordinator Stephanee Sadek.
Rieck has worked with elementary, middle school and high school programs during her first nine years with the district. She has also served on numerous district committees focusing on special education, curriculum and instruction, and staff development. Prior to joining District 196, Rieck was a peer monitor for the Minnesota Department of Education, Division of Monitoring and Compliance.
"Nandi has shown she has the knowledge, skills, passion and dedication to lead Dakota Ridge," said Director of Special Education Mary Kreger. "She is committed to providing a safe, supportive and rigorous learning environment for Dakota Ridge students."
Rieck earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a master's degree in school psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and a specialist degree in educational administration and special education licensure from St. Cloud State University.
